What are we without a body?
Without our flesh and bones
That holds us, our being
When we are decomposed
And broken down at the core
What is concealed beneath all of that?
The essence that creates us,
The human soul…
Special thanks to Kraken Still and Film for being an incredible mentor and friend throughout the whole process. This whole thing wouldn't have been achievable without your help and advice. Thank you for all of your help and everything that you have contributed to this entire process, both performing, filming, and photography.

Inspired by the spiritual world and the astral plane, Mind Universe is made up of five different sections, with each section representing a different stage of transformation. This piece tells the story of the transition from the physical world to the spiritual body. It addresses the different stages that undergo one to the other, and dives deeper into the sensations being seen, heard, and felt throughout the process. This peace asks many thought provoking questions such as: What is real, and what is not? As well as brings forth new prescriptions, ideas, and concepts of one’s reality.
The expanded version of what was presented in February is now fully developed to tell the tales of each section, with new movement, new performers, and new perspectives, this piece wants to ask: What do you want to take away? Has anything changed?

Thank you to my mentor Nicole Bradley-Browning for guiding me down the right path for this piece.
Thank you to the weaver shown on screen: Ryn Duong. Merging the two worlds of woven fabrics with dance would not have been possible without you.
