
Geli Santarsiero
Angelica Santarsiero, often referred to as Geli, is from Mamaroneck, New York. She is a dancer, choreographer, storyteller, artist, and alumni of Arizona State University. Geli has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance through the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts and graduated in May 2022.
She most notably worked with Kraken Still and Film, a dance company based in Tempe Arizona, specializing in dance film and photography, directed by colleague and friend Lawrence Fung. Geli was a core dancer and choreographer for Kraken and had been part of the company since December 2019. She can be seen featured in the company's flagship project "Unbreakable" as well as “Distant Worlds” in 2021. Geli premiered a new work entitled "Mind Universe" featuring an original score, multi-media, and cast of 12 for the ASU senior capstone event, Transitions: CumulusTwenty-Two presented in the Margaret Giselo Theater in 2022.
Geli is a hard-working, organized, expressive, ambitious, a passionate storyteller, and a well-versed dance artist as she trains within a wide range of dance forms to support her choreographic and performance work. She also participated in Arizona’s Sol Power, a community-based event highlighting the strength and diversity of the Hip Hop community in Arizona, taking place at the Nelson Fine Arts Center. Geli worked in an administrative support position for this event, coordinating dancers for battles. Geli also herself, won a Hip Hop class battle in Spring 2019. She has created a dance show with colleague Max Buttler, that showcased an expanded version of “Mind Universe” premiering May 6th and 7th 2022 in the Margaret Giselo Theater.
Geli has focused on Hip Hop during her time at ASU, combining multiple techniques. Within her Hip Hop training, she has trained in breaking, house, locking, and has basic skills in both vogue and whacking. Geli also has trained in other dance forms such as tap, jazz, and postmodern dance. She enjoys being able to work with many different people and create new and unique work. Geli is eager for what is to come in the future as she continues to pursue dance, performance, and choreography, and collaborate with a variety of different artists.
